GAFFER TRUCK

Grip and Gaffer Truck

Welcome to gaffertruck and anamorphstudio I’m a Bulgaria freelance owner/operator lighting technician & gaffer with 20 years lighting experience in film and video production

One lighting truck. One stop shop for your lighting needs.

In film or video production, getting lighting results starts with having the right kit at your disposal. Gaffertruck comes equipped with a comprehensive compliment of high-quality lighting & grip tools, designed to meet the challenges of modern production demands.

I’ve invested heavily in reliable and accurate lighting instruments, to help streamline the way we work on set, provide budget flexibility, and offer DP’s and Production as many creative choices as possible to deliver their vision.

The reason why grip trucks are so important is that they solve problems on the go. Your lighting and camera crew won’t be happier than when they see the addition of a good grip truck on standby. Gaffertruck and Anamorphstudio gives optimal packages necessary to give your team the best chance to get the job done at a clear and concise competitive rate to ensure all productions, big and small, can afford to get their hands on this essential package.

FAQ

WHAT TYPE OF SHOOTS DO YOU COVER?

I’m an owner/operator lighting technician with kit, so I’m able to cover a range of productions sizes. Typically my projects are on small to medium size jobs, with corresponding crew sizes. These might be small/medium commercials, documentaries, branded/corporate jobs, music videos and indie films.

HOW DO YOUR FEES WORK?

I have a flat day rate, plus expenses. Equipment rental fees are projected based on discussions with DP and Producer, to establish the needs of the production. Any rental fees are invoiced along with my day rate. Kit rental is on a price per item per day basis, or a buy-out fee for my van and it’s entire inventory. Contact me for my latest rate card on my lighting inventory.

HOW DO I BUDGET?

It starts with a conversation, typically I might speak with the DP, to establish the look and objectives for the lighting. From this I prepare a projected quote made-up of the lighting tools I think we’ll require. As this is a projected kit list, it can change, but it forms the basis for a plan, both in terms of cost but also what approach is taken on the day.

WHICH PRE-PRODUCTION LOGISTICS ARE IMPORTANT TO THE LIGHTING TEAM?

Parking and power. I work out of my lighting & grip van, therefore it’s imperative myself and any crew, are able to access my van throughout the production. Please make enquiries with your base and/or location that there is adequate parking, loading & elevator facilities. I also require power for lighting, this can sometimes involve large electrical loads, so getting an early understanding of the available power outlets and geography of your chosen location, can help me plan the electrical distribution for your production, and furthermore identify any issues that would need to be addressed before the shoot.

CAN YOU SOURCE ADDITIONAL LIGHTING EQUIPMENT?

Yes. I can provide this as a cross-hire service for certain items through my rental house connections, and provide this as a seamless one stop shop. Or, I can work with additional lighting equipment you rent through your own relationships.

CAN YOU SOURCE ADDITIONAL CREW?

Yes. I have a long-standing network of fellow lighting professionals, covering a range of roles, and experience, in the lighting dept.

WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?

I’m based in Sofia, Bulgaria, however I’m happy to travel throughout the Bulgaria. I charge for mileage and any additional travel related expenses.
